Dot watching

Like many athletics fans I am looking forward to the glut of athletics that will be available to watch this summer with the World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Athletics Championships all following in quick succession

Currently however I am partaking in a spot of ‘dot watching’ via a live tracking map as Damian Hall attempts to retake his previously held record for the FKT for running the 261 mile Pennine Way.

The record, 58 hrs 04 mins is currently held by John Kelly who beat the previous record of 61 hrs 35 mins which was held by Damian.

Currently  the map shows that Damian is slightly behind where John Kelly was at this stage of his attempt. But according to the Inov8 website :

‘Damian Hall is now 25 hours into his attempt….. and has completed 127 miles and is up on his own schedule. Fierce head winds and muddy ground have made for tough running conditions.’

I also plan on fitting further dot watching around my own running during June/July as Imo Buddy, at the age of 22years aims to become the youngest woman to complete JOGLE (John O’ Groats to Lands End)

The current youngest woman, at 23 years, to run JOGLE completely solo is Megan Al Ghailan.

So plenty to look out for and some logistical planning to fit it all around my own running.
